Questions about CSI, GSR and Grissom/Lady Heather...
Hi guys !!
I have got one question about CSI, in particular seasons on CSI, and about GSR and the ship Lady heather/Grissom, please help me to answer at the first one and comment the second and third !!

  1. How many season did the cast of CSI Las Vegas sign ?
  2. I thought after season 6 there will be another season, and after it will be the end, am I right ?

  1. 2) A comparaison about GSR in the episode Nesting Dollsand Grissom/Lady Heather in the Episode " Pirate of the Third Reich ...I thought when Grissom took Sara's hand to confort her, it was too powerful than when he hugged Lady Heather...I only watched a small preview of the episode " Pirate of the Third Reich "...but I didn't feel the end was so emotional, what did you think of it ?

  1. 3) Did you like or not the episode Pirate of the Third Reich many GSR people don't like it because there was Lady Heather, and just one short scene with Sara...but did that episode have a great plot ( withtout thinking as a GSR fan, but as someone neutral...who doesn't see ships everywhere ) ?

Thanks for all your replies .

1.) I believe that WP is committed through 2007, but I'm not certain (I read it somewhere, I can't remember where, but I could be wrong). As far as the series, who knows. There was a Chicago Tribune newspaper article the other day:

"The show can go on without me, and probably will, but I want to come back to act in Chicago," he adds. "My wife and I just bought a condo downtown, and I want to do theater."

Here's the link: http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/tv/mmx-0602120046feb12,0,275304.story?coll=mmx-television_heds

Which leads me to believe CSI could continue the way ER has, adjusting to cast changes. CSI without Grissom, though...I have my reservations.

2.) I believe the quality of emotion between Grissom and Sara in "Nesting Dolls" and between Grissom and Lady Heather in "Pirates of the Third Reich" are both intense, but different in nature.

Grissom is Sara's supervisor and he went to her apartment in "Nesting Dolls" to address a serious issue at work. When he took her hand as she was relating her sad past, he was offering appropriate comfort for the situation. Whatever is going on between them, I don't believe Grissom would violate the supervisor/subordinate boundary, especially not in a situation in which Sara was so vulnerable.

As for Lady Heather, a sexual relationship between them has certainly been implied. Even if none exists, they do not have any boudaries to their relationship except those that they, themselves impose. The only boundary revealed is the one Heather imposed after Grissom abruptly withdrew from her when he realized she could be a murder suspect in "Lady Heather's Box." Grissom sitting in his car outside the Dominon after LHB could be interpreted as his respect for the imposed boundary. Clearly she is maintaining that boundary in "Pirates" (she tells him he lost his ability to give advice some time ago).

When he stops her from whipping Sneller at the end of "Pirates" it seemed to me that he was doing it partly because of the legal ramifications for LH, but also because of his prior relationship with her. This woman had just lost her daughter and was not making rational decisions...I think Grissom was saving her from herself. I don't know if their relationship could continue, but he does have knowledge about Zoe having had her baby. I can see him struggling with revealing that to her (Doc Robbins would have to mention she asked about it to Grissom, first).

3.) I liked "Pirates" but thought it would have been better as a two-parter. There is so much good backstory in there. A two-part show would have allowed that to come out.

Hi !!
Thanks for your replies !!

About question N°1 I think all the actors signed through 2007, so 7 seasons if we count 2007...and I read that comment of William Petersen. I don't think the show will be the same without him...
Jorja Fox has many project at the end on CSI ( she talked about them on an interview in CBS ) and I think too she will stop at 2007...as the other actors

About N°2 : I understand what you want to explain, even if I'm not agree with the whole supervisor/subordonate thing...Sara needs only one man in her life and I think it's Grissom ( I'm a GSR fan ).
For the sexual tension between Grissom and Lady Heather, I felt it and I hope it's something just sexual cause I can't imagine real Love between them...

About N°3 : I'll see...here, in France, we stopped at Big Middle, so at almost the end of season 5. And I read about the backstory, many people said it should be more developped and I believe I understand you/them.

I think that Grissom and Sara could very well get together, but it would have to be under circumstances not governed by the supervisor/subordinate boundary.

If, for example, they met under non-work circumstances and decided to pursue a relationship, that would be ok (really OK...let's get to it!). In the context of the series, when Grissom took her home after the DUI, or when he was comforting her after her revelation, that would be forbidden because Grissom was acting in his surpervisor role and Sara was in a vulnerable position (i.e., not equal and perhaps, not in a position to say no). It's kind of a fine line but I do think the Grissom character would adhere to it.

I am a GSR gal all the way, BTW...I just want to see them get together "properly" if that makes sense...

Hi !!

i totally understand you !! But my problem is that Grissom is near Sara when she is vulnerable ( aka in Nesting Dolls of after her DUI ), he never really touched her when she is just a CSI....

Did you know that the writters had another idea at the very first episode " Pilot " : Sara must be Grissom's lover, but they abandon that idea...too bad, we didn't wait that long...

And it's great to have a GSR gal's pointview about " Pirates of The Third Reich ", you are really a open-minder people and I appreciated a lot that !!

1. Season 7 or 8 would be the last the way the contracts are now, of course WP has already said that he wants to leave.

2. When I saw PotTR I have to say one thing, in my opinion (sorry GSR- ers) but there will never be an on screen relationship. The power of that scene between them was unbelievable. The scenes where Grissom holds Sara's hand are intense! But nothing compared to Grissom and Lady Heather. That is the way I feel about PotTR.

3. I missed Sara of course in that episode. The three seconds screen time weren't enough for me as a Sara fan. But I agree with some other people it should have been a two hour episode. That would have been better cause the end was wrapped up a little to fast for my liking.

Hi !!
Thanks for your answer, neapeace !!
I also read an interview when Jorja Fox said she will stop her contract after season 7.
As your are a Cath/Sara fan, I'm not surprised by your answer about PotTR, I will see it, I think, in a few months here in France.
I'm not sure I will enjoy a two hour episode, cause I really don't like Lady Heather's character ( it's maybe because I'm a GSR fan ) and for me a lot of episode with just a small minutes with Sara are not great episode. And I saw already the end thanks to some Internet Files I can tell you I'm not at all enjoying the end of PotTR!!!

No to be honest the answer to these question really have nothing to do with me as a C/S shipper. It's the way I saw that episode.

I don't know I just love the Lady Heather character! Those episodes with her in it are definatly in my favourite top ten episodes. :D

1) I know they said they didn't want the series to get "stale", so maybe next season would be their last.....Kinda leaves me wondering what I'll do on Thursday evenings if that's true.

2) I personally, think both cases here are friendship. In "Nesting Dolls", I think Grissom was simply trying to comfort Sara, as any good friend would-because at the point in time, I don't think he had yet realized that he wanted there to be more than friendship between the two of them. In "Pirates", I also think this is friendship-though more in the (ALMOST) fatherly way; with Grissom being the controller and Lady Heather being the subordinate (Which, I'm sure was unordinary in her life). I think that in "Lady Heather's Box", maybe they were trying to date-perhaps the scene where he finds out she's a diabetic is "morning after"...I don't know. But, I do know that their relationship (G/LH) was on a steady downward slope afterwards; probably giving him the chance to see Sara in a new light.

3) Not a GSR fan here (My pairing is Sara/Catherine preferably), but I thought "Pirates" needed some work. I thought it should have been a two parter and that they left out a lot of detail in the rush to make it only one episode. The plotline was good and I loved seeing Lady Heather as a recurring character again though.
